Skid Row (heavy metal band) - Skid Row is an American heavy metal band which became the hard rock prototypes of the late 1980s metal scene and were reasonably successful until they were eclipsed by the Seattle grunge bands in 1991. While lumped in with hair bands, partly due to their appearance and sound in the early years, Skid Row were in fact far and away heavier than just about any other band considered "hair metal". Saint (Heavy Metal) - Saint was a Christian metal band, first active in the mid-1980s, releasing their first album "Warriors of the Sun" in 1984. Running Wild (band) - Running Wild is one of several German power metal bands to emerge in the mid/late 1980s (along with Helloween, Rage, Blind Guardian, Grave Digger, etc). The band has carved its niche in the metal world as the first "pirate metal" band, a theme which took off with the release of Under Jolly Roger in 1987 (thus abandoning the satanic imagery of their earlier work). Forbidden (band) - Forbidden is a Thrash metal band from the San Francisco Bay Area, part of the Bay Area Thrash scene, most popular in the late 1980s and the early 1990s. Their style is an unique mixture between Thrash metal with Power Metal with classical influences.
